Maladaptive Daydreaming Disorder (MaDD or MD) is a proposed diagnosis for a behavioral addiction often featuring symptoms of excessive daydreaming, sympathetic body motions, procrastination/productivity issues related to daydreaming, and distress when unable to daydream. It was first reported by Eli Somer, who was previously president of the European Society for Trauma and Dissociation, as well as president of the International Society for the Study of Trauma and Dissociation. Maladaptive Daydreaming Disorder is currently not recognized by the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM), nor is it recognized by the ICD, and is hence not widely known or treated by mental health professionals.

A small tight-knit club for writers to share their stories & ideas, to get feedback and to keep each other accountable 🃏
Doesn't matter what kind of writer you are: original short-stories obsessed, fanfiction fanatic, working on your next high-fantasy, even chronic worldbuilder that doesn't plan on writing stories or MaDDer/IDer/NNer that wants to write down your paracosm(s) just for yourself!
And obviously doesn't matter who you are! We've made ourselves as accessible as possible, and are radically inclusive 🫧
You can yourself organise writing sprints or body doubling sessions with the other members, as well as share resources and prompts!
We also have a beta-reading channel, where you can find people interested in beta-reading for you, and a channel to ask for opinions and criticism! We also have a channel to share things for fun, without the want for criticism, obviously ^^
We also do accountability checks for those who opt-in!
Although it is not the main focus of the server, we have journaling spaces as well! Things like sharing prompts, your journals or techniques, or even your stationary! 🌿
All this project needs is your creative mind! 🪻

We do have a place for resources, and we do, of course, heavily encourage the healing journey, but this is a community server, first and foremost. We are not therapists! Just fellow daydreamers trying to find a space with like minded people and good energy.)
This is a (100% SFW) server that centers itself around daydreaming and specifically disordered daydreaming, addictive daydreaming, *Maladaptive* daydreaming, and other, sometimes connected issues!
We do NOT discriminate for gender, orientation, race, mental, or physical health. We are system friendly, but do not allow non-disordered plurality, or endogenics. All genres of daydreaming are allowed to be discussed as well, given it's done respectfully!
