Hieros Elaionas | ιερός ελαιώνας - The Sacred Olive Groves
A discord based religious community dedicated to Hellenic Polytheism & ancient Hellenic culture. We aim to promote the spiritual and intellectual development of our members, with an emphasis on the scholarship of Greek & Roman religion, philosophy, and the myths of the poets.
Our community provides support for new Hellenic Polytheists, experienced Hellenic Polytheists, and those who want to dive deeper into the realms of philosophy, history, and mysticism. It does this via:
– A 101 questions channel, & a wealth of resources aimed at both new & experienced polytheists.
– A library of academic texts members have found useful, & places to discuss our own learning
– Spaces to talk about our experiences, gnosis, & praxis
– Devotional prayer, art, music, & hymn-writing spaces
– Community rituals, & festivals - including contests in honour of the gods
– An Attic calendar bot, to track what day of the lunar month it is, alongside research into other ancient Greek calendars & festivals.
– Daily quotes from Ancient Greek literature
– Weekly discussion topics & a weekly Delphic Maxim
– Weekly check-ins for reading & devotional projects
