The Wandering Library

The Wandering Library is a witchcraft and spirituality information database server network linked through this social server. The information provided is from witches who have been researching and practicing for years and mods that have collective experience spanning decades.

We want a place for witches of all skill levels to have access to good and reliable information; we also have submissions for those who have information of their own to contribute. We're always adding new info so If there is something that we don't have added yet and you'd like more information on, let us know and we will do our best to get that information out. We also have a study corner for those who want to listen to music or talk while they study and sift through all of our channels in our sister-servers!

We have live readings for those who want to practice their divination skills, and workshop classes lead by mods and admins who are experienced in that given field.

Our Sister Servers contain the following information:
- Religion/Deities
- History/Science/Folklore
- Herb/Animal/Crystal/Nature correspondences
- Magic and Witchcraft
- Astrology/Energy work
- 18+ Magic
Within our server network we have over 2,000 information channels to choose from; you're bound to learn something new every time you take a look around!

I've been in this server for over a year now and i have never felt more comfortable in a server than this one. The staff and mod team are professional and hard working when it comes to any questions/inquiries on anything in server or any trolls that may get in. Theyre very knowledgeable on the topics of this server and all the information they share. But staff also hops in chat and interacts with members frequently. Theyre friende of everybody.
The members are amazing too. Its not full of cliques, everyone talks to everyone and everyone helps everyone. Its so welcoming and I couldn't feel more safe here. This server is so so valuable and important to me <3
Generally a dull group.

I opened a discussion about Japanese culture and got blasted with insults, lol. I find this a very interesting phenomenon of neoculturalistic paganism where people often appropriate cultures and use a random person from that culture and one priestess of unknown credentials to justify them /practicing/ shintoism. Which isn't even a typical religion.

I find this place to generally be a toxic cesspool of a bunch of people that appropriate culture as the moderating team fails to actually moderate, instead being too busy watching people insult someone outright and collect outrage for their self-beneficial desire to be /right/.

Overall, not for the mature mind. I'm kind of tired being tomato reacted and people making your mom jokes to my post about how Japanese practices need nuance due to them being sinosphere and not being immersed in that particular culture.

ALSO they will talk about the saying I referenced: a sighted man in a sea of blind folk. That is an actual saying. Which was not in any intent of ableism whatsoever. Watch them reference it down below and try to construct me as an ableist gatekeeper. Lol.

I apologize that this is the experience that you had in our server. As a moderator, I should have shut down the name calling that happened from some of our members. That being said, you yourself stated that you do not have the authority to dictate that Shintoism is closed or that people are appropriating it, and shut down the voices of those who were born in Japan and learning from a Shitoist Priestess. You deeply hurt two individuals that are in our community. People did get out of line and escalated things in a way they shouldn't have, but please don't judge the entire 5000+ people community on the 2-5 people you were disagreeing with in one instance. Especially given the fact that they were also spoken to privately after the conversation. Nobody is here to say you're an ableist gatekeeper, though I'm sorry you were given the impression that that's an action we would take. The opinions of a few don't reflect on the thoughts of thousands and the values we hold as a team. I don't understand why you posted this review before we were able to get to our conversation about the matter, but I hope that one argument that is not fully represented does not sway others to avoid a community that strives to foster kindness, compassion, and understanding. I know we have our failures, and I'm sorry that you feel that our server failed you.
