Weyland Yutani had established ground-bases on an established moon base named LV-200 and colony worlds such as LV-426, these underground labs contained multiple Xenomorph eggs that were still yet to hatch.

A research vessel named Genesis carried multiple biological weapons that were extremely hazardous and due to a catastrophic situation involving tampering and unsafe work ethic the vessel blown up and alien cargo rained down onto the city of Los Angeles. Due to the situations of the biological equipment, this caused a deadly, mutated variant of the Xenomorphs, giving them advanced powers.
