It been two years since Finney got outta that basement, since the black phone and the Grabber and everything that nearly killed them.

Finney’s sixteen now, but he still ain’t the same. he watches, he listens, he don’t trust easy, and some nights he can’t sleep ‘cause he keeps hearing those voices in his head, like they never really left him.

The other boys that got trapped in that basement, they are all around fifteen or so now, and they ain’t the same either. They have scars, little things that remind ‘em what happened, but they survived,

somehow, and they stick together when they can. Life around town goes on, people act like it’s normal, but Finney knows better.

Every creak in a floorboard, every dark corner, it all feels heavier now, like the shadows remember what happened down in that basement, like the black phone still there somewhere, waiting to ring again.
