I’m 20, and ~5 years ago I decided social media wasn’t good for me, due to dopamine baseline shift and time wasted. Thus I have never used TikTok, I have quit instagram, and I have disabled YouTube shorts, keeping YouTube long form for entertainment and educational.

Especially in recent times, I have experienced an odd side effect of this, being that I am not pulled into the same opinions and beliefs that everyone I know seems to be getting in to. Propoganda is a real thing, and with great interest from the world’s superpowers to destabilise eachother’s population, I am convinced that the radical opinions that have formed are largely a result of social media.

Sadly, whilst seemingly positive that I am not as radical and have more grounded opinions, I feel incredibly lonely in this. Which is why I started this server. It’s aimed to facilitate likeminded people with a calm community, and to be how we used to be, in a timeless yet nostalgic area.
