Marvel: Next Generation

Welcome to Marvel: Next Generation! We are a Marvel roleplay server with an original storyline unrelated to the movies or comics.

• Nice staff!
• LGBTQ+ friendly!
• New or old to roleplay? Doesn't matter!

NOTE: Almost all canon characters are dead (except for some event bosses; see story below), and because of that we are a •••OC ONLY••• server.

In the span of 5 hours, the world has lost all hope. In October 2018, there was a massive war between the forces of good vs evil, the Avengers vs The Masters of Evil. In the end, the Avengers, aided by the rest of the superhero community, managed to beat the Masters of Evil, but at a great cost. No one managed to survive the battle. The Avengers, the Fantastic Four, the Xmen...all gone.

1 year later, the world saw the birth of the Next Generation of heroes and villians. Under the watch of S.H.I.E.L.D., this new batch of superheroes rose against the forces of darkness. But then, in December 21st, 2019, S.H.I.E.L.D. fell. Corrupted by the terrorist organization HYDRA, S.H.I.E.L.D. was dissolved by the newly-formed Avengers and HYDRA was pushed back—for now.

The world was at relative peace until February 2020, when the murderous A.I. Ultron escaped from his prison and initiated a massive battle against the superhuman community. This event known as the Ultron Uprising marked the end of another era. The leader of the Avengers, the speedster Lightspeed, died saving the world from Ultron. 8 months later, the Avengers have rebranded themselves as the Ultimates and the world once more knows peace. However, this won't last, as the mysterious relics known as the Infinity Stones have resurfaced in the past few months, and there are those out there interested in them....

So, will you be a new hero ready to fight against the forces of evil, or will you join the dark side and fight justice? Or better yet, join no one and fight for yourself? The choice is yours!

Alrighty then...
Right okay. Imma do my best to be as Disboard puts it "positive, constructive and respectful."
So like I said in my now deleted review (I didn't articulate the points I wanted to) that most of this server's issues stem from the staff, and that's still the point of this review.

I guess the biggest issue could be summed up in two words "Staff Privilege." For one, the oc limit for rpers is 6. The oc limit for staff? There is none. This is because the owner made a bunch of characters, then made them all basically npcs, and then never dropped them. So they made a rule that made that legal.

Another thing that falls under "Staff Privilege" is that the staff will approve your oc (maybe. sometimes they ignore a sub for 2-3 days) but one of them won't move it to the approved section. They make the owner do it. I honestly can't tell if it's the staff's members fault or the owner's. The staff member says they're a "volunteer" but as someone who volunteers you don't get to not do something as a volunteer because you don't want to. It could also be the owner's fault for not putting his foot down.

Another thing is a sort of ignoring of ideas. You can suggest something sure but they'll be pretty quick to shoot it down. The staff kinda rules the server and you just gotta go along with it.

But I should say something "Positive" and "respectful" so.... the rp is solid, template's good and lore is detailed to say the least.

Admin response
Hey, first of all thank you for your criticism. It is not always easy to manage a server perfectly without some stuff seeming unfair or not right. The Character Limit had a very simple reason. As this is a very heavily Lore focused server with a constant overarching narrative we have to guide said narrative in rp somehow, so staff having many characters was our first way to go. With these we can keep the server in check without constantly having to make announcements, guidelines and reminders as well as introduce elements that will be important for the overarching narrative. Labeling them NPCs, in our eyes, would have given them a smaller role than they have, as npcs are usually enemy troops or single use characters. However your frustration over it is understandable, we just didn't realize that because we never viewed them as 'proper' characters. As for the staff member not sending in submissions, a warning has been spoken. We hope this answer helped put this in perspective and discribe our point of view.

I have fun
Well making a character can very person to person but I like how the template and banned powers are, there are a few members who over step some lines, i have done it myself, but all in all its chill. Don't start trouble and trouble won't happen to you.
