Just my very honest review "Yip! Yip!"
I'm a weird guy who always roam around rp server just to see whether or not they are worthy for me to stay. Not a veteran rp-er, but this server definitely catches me. And now I'm part of their staff two weeks after joining lol

First Impression: Simple but grand lore, 5 kingdoms and each of them has a very distinct flavor (forgive me, not a native speaker), which makes things easier for me to understand, especially when you are new and have to get stuffed in with the knowledge. Medieval styled fantasy with elements so tightly-connected that it looks pretty much realistic such as treaties, trading and so on, not a very big world but the inter-connectivity amazes me.

Character creation: Able to use Google Docs now. The Bio Team are actually understaffed, not always online but once they are, they've done quite of a detailed job upon balancing. Might take some time (to the point of tedious cuz they don't wanna miss out every detail so it becomes a loophole to exploit) to get your character approved (My first oc was sort of the lucky one which only took around for a day), and not all people have that patience as well, but if you have the deeds to wait, the repay is quite huge. And on the other hand, they also have a very detailed list of species allowed as an oc/pets/familiars, and they do accept new creatures as well! (I submitted a shark-puppy creature as a new pet species and they were now sort of mascots ). KEEP IN MIND that this is not a CRP server, even though they do take balancing on combat abilities, and the limitation is harsh (Limited use on steel), to the extent of only two abilities per oc, and NO abilities development is possible. (e.g From a Noob to God-Mode is impossible; I do different types of rp, and I would say this is not quite of a place for serious CRP players, but they do take details into that as well, and they have staff who knows abt crp very well.)

RP experience: Generally fun. They encourage not to be one-liners, so take note of that, but besides that it was lots of fun lol ERP and a bit of CRP does takes place, and players are active as well. If you don't wanna get yourself rp-locked tho, you can make up to 5 ocs to have at least one available for playing. (FYI: One of my ocs is now a shark puppy rancher/biologist who give out adoptions to shark puppies, while I have a few adventurer and bounty hunters ocs)

Staff: Understaffed like I said, but they are very nice and hardworking, very detailed minded, non-toxic, although sometimes they can be very obsessive on ability details (Which sounds both "OK" and "umm", but hey, it's an rp server so)

Overall: Enough to earn my stay and becoming a staff, I would love to do stuff and try to make this server a better place to join. Flaws still exists but I believe people in the server are willing to make changes, for the benefit of Iota lol.

Hoops, hoops, hoops! You have to jump through so many tedious hoops to even begin enjoying what this roleplay has to offer! And what does it have to offer? Surprisingly little. It's not actually "bad", mind you, just ... mediocre.

My main gripe is the server's systems -you need to put arbitrary numbers on each ability, your weapon, your pets and just about anything you may want your character to have. That makes sense, gotta balance this stuff so combat can be fair, right? No. They claim that this ISN'T a CRP server, yet it'll often take up to a week to get approved specifically to balance out CRP. Furthermore, you can only have two abilities -highly specific, generally inflexible powers. Hope you don't mind having no options.

The absolute worst bit, though, is that, despite their already unjustified obsession with "balance", they use a "turns/rounds" system for combat (Do recall that this isn't meant to be a CRP server). Yeah. You act, then they act. That's a round. Normally, this wouldn't be a big deal, except that cooldowns of abilities, charge times, durations and all that good stuff are also measured in "rounds". Oh. Right. Rounds aren't measured in time. Go figure. So you need to try to measure the amount of time that has passed, the amount of time actions take and the time it takes to have cooldowns and charge times finish ...all without using any proper measurement of time.

No, Rounds are defined as one instance of each participant acting. However, there's no method of measuring what or how much one can do in a singular Turn. They say "use common sense" for this most important aspect of determining action and events. The passage of time itself. Despite all the lengths they go to in order to balance powers and characters, when it comes to time, they say "eyeball it". It takes ten rounds to fully transform into a dragon. This could be anywhere from ten seconds (assuming ten rounds each consisting of a single second's worth of action) to upwards of ten MINUTES. Similarly, if I have a charge attack that requires two turns to charge fully, who is to say someone cannot dash eight feet towards me and sweep my legs in one turn? There is just too much variability here. It's bonkers. I have to go through all of these hoops to make a character I won't even use in combat, yet the server's operators can't even form a proper system for how action plays out?

As a closing statement, let me give you an example of the kind of nonsense they demand when balancing these things.

My character has a staff that produces flowers. These flowers offer those in close proximity a degree of protection from fear, panic, frenzy and other such mental ailments. Not much, but some.

They wanted me to define how much protection. They told me to offer roleplay examples of this.

Um, excuse me, you want me to fully define a relative degree of protection against an already completely abstract concept? How much 'fear' does it block? It's stupid.

You want a proper, character-driven roleplay? Keep looking. You want some proper, hardcore combat roleplay? Keep looking. You want to get in with a character you love without spending upwards of a week waiting for lazy staff to reject it? Yeah, keep looking.

The community is friendly and the staff are helpful. The in-depth lore is nice. However, expect to be limited, to the extent of not being able to even wield a steel made weapon. In addition, you cannot use google documents. If you wish to join, expect all of those things mentioned above. So far it is looking decently for me.

Friendly and fun.
I've been on this server little under four months and from the moment I've joined I felt welcome, the creating a character is a little bit tedious at first but after that, the server is an amazing place to roleplay! the community is amazing and friendly.
