⭑⭒ it's 1921! grab a glass of whiskey at a local speakeasy while an attempt to summon the black goat with a thousand young goes awry. instead of the apocalypse, out of the portal has stepped not only the lord of carcosa, but four other entities. similarly to the lord of carcosa, they have all been split in half. yet unlike him, they were not sealed inside an object. all four have spread to the corners of the unites states via different and unknown means, and the world continues on as it always does. that is until december of 1934, when arkham, massachusetts investigator arthur lester opens a strange book and loses his vision.
