The future has been known to promise evolution, but with it also evolves new problems, new complications and new struggles. But that is the promise human advancement. There is nothing to be advanced if there is nothing that gives humans the prospect to improve.

***Winter, 2040***

A global phenomenon occured. A meteor shower. Inside of these meteors that dissolved in the atmosphere, was something that changed the world.

An alien chemical inside of them spread like mist to places all over. This mist awoke something within human DNA, something that has been suppressed and evolved out of humans for centuries. With the alien chemical acting as a catalyst, this genetic mutation flourished.

Anomalies have existed for years prior to the meteor shower, but were extremely rare and never showed up in public. But now, anomalies and mutants began to show up everywhere, and with the unexplained and uncontrolled new powers in the hands of random people all over the world, all that came from it was havoc.

It’s been almost 20 years since the meteor shower and the newfound “popularity” of these anomalies. One would be crazy to believe anomalies have any kind of freedom nowadays. Propaganda about these anomalies have spread like wildfire, and “normal” people learned to fear and hate anomalies, blaming them for the problems of the world. Hunters search the earth to find anomalies hiding away, either to eliminate them or force them into a life of slavery.

However, there are groups of people who believe that this phenomenon of powered people should not be feared, but instead controlled and embraced. What is science if we don’t try to study the unknown?

Deep in the cold forests of Russia stands a ginormous laboratory building that very little knows about. Nobody gets in and nobody gets out without authorization. This lab has one purpose.
